Human-Authored Policy

In the age of Artificial Intelligence, many authors are publishing books that are written by AI platforms rather than by humans. This undermines book integrity and violates readers' trust.

We recognize the many benefits of AI and advocate leveraging it for many purposes (including helping draft the content of this website).

That said, we are committed to publishing quality, human-authored books, and have adopted the following policy:

1. Human-Authored Manuscript Requirement. Authors may use AI for brainstorming, outlining, and de minimis drafting, but the majority (at least 90%) of the main manuscript body must be human-authored, or it will not be approved for publication by GridNorth Press.

2. Human-Editing Process Requirement. While AI tools may be used for basic editing and grammar, all manuscripts must undergo a human editing process by a skilled editor, including copyediting and proofreading. No book will be approved for publication without undergoing this process.
